Staff Development Training 1/03 & 1/04: Introducing Infant Massage and Helping Young Children Manage the Strong Emotion of Anger | Every month our staff learns something new, takes a look at something old from a new perspective, reinforces and reinvigorates previous education and training, or just has some hands-on fun through our regular training programs. Learn more about our happy teachers here.

Wear it : 1/05 wear your favorite color. | 1/20 wear anything with Polka dots. | 1/24 wear brown.

Busy Bee’s Homework 1/9: In order to prepare you and the children for Kindergarten, the Busy Bee teachers will send fun homework packets home every Monday. The activities help the children practice the concepts they are learning at school and give you an opportunity to see some of the ways your child learns at school.  Packets should be returned the following Monday. The children are not required to complete the homework, but those that do receive recognition for it during circle time. The homework is not graded or returned. | It is best to establish a consistent homework routine. We recommend doing it 2-3 days a week. For example every Monday, Wednesday & Friday or every Tuesday & Thursday. It’s up to you and your family. Click on Homework tab on the Busy Bee Page.

Discovery Days 1/12 & 13: Please join us for some hands-on learning fun with your preschool children. We will have different outdoor learning centers from 10:00 – 11:00.  What will we be discovering? Come on in to find out!

  • January  12th, 10:00-11:00 -Pandas & Penguins & Toddler Center
  • January 13th, 10:00-11:00 -Busy Bees & Dragonflies

Field Trip Kids World 1/19 9:00-1:00: Lunch on trip| 8618 Lindero Canyon Rd Ste A, Oak Park | 818-338-8888| Please sign up here. | Field trips are available for Busy Bees, Dragonflies, Penguins.  All children must wear their Halsey Shirt on all field trips. If your child is in the Panda class, he/she may attend the trip if you or your spouse or other loved one join us. Parents are always welcome to attend and space is limited. January Billing in the new online family system called Sandbox: January billing will take place after the 1st of January instead of December 20th. So your ACH and Credit Card charges will not be posted until January 1. | On January 20th the normal billing schedule will resume for February tuition.

Cold & Flu Season:  We are now officially in the Cold & Flu Season.  At Halsey Schools, we follow our written Illness Policy and written illness prevention procedures.  We make every effort to assure your child contracts as few illnesses as possible.  However, most children and adults will contract at least one illness between now and April.  Remember to wash your child’s hands everyday before leaving school or any other social event.
